We are the step between a homeowner with a roof problem and a contractor who fixes roofs. That is the entire business. We do not climb on roofs, we do not own ladders, and nobody here is going to tell you what your roof needs, because we have not seen it.
We do two things. We take your description of the problem and get it to a roofing contractor working in your area, and we publish information about roofing in Elk Grove that is checked against sources you can follow yourself.
What we are not
- Not a roofing contractor. We hold no contractor license because we perform no construction work.
- Not an employer of roofers. The contractors are independent businesses.
- Not an inspector or estimator. Nobody from this site assesses your roof.

Why we lead with this

We do not badge anyone as approved, certified or vetted by us, because we are not in a position to certify anyone's workmanship.
Check the contractor yourself
Since we are not vouching for anyone, here is how to vouch for them yourself. It takes about a minute and it is the single most useful thing a homeowner can do before signing.
- Get the license number. California requires a CSLB C-39 roofing license for roofing work where labor and materials exceed $500. Licensed contractors are required to show that number in their advertising, so it should be on the truck, the card and the quote.
- Check it on the CSLB site. The free license check shows whether the license is active, what classification it holds, and whether the bond and workers compensation coverage are current. A C-39 is the classification you want for roofing.
- Confirm workers compensation if they have employees. If an uninsured worker is injured on your property, that can become your problem.
- Get it in writing. Scope, materials, decking rate, permit handling, payment schedule and warranty terms. Be cautious about large payments before work begins.
One red flag worth naming
If a contractor offers to absorb, waive or rebate your insurance deductible, end the conversation. It is not a discount and it is not legal, and a business willing to do that in front of you is telling you something about how it handles the parts you cannot see.

Because we have not surveyed these contractors, so any rating we published would be invented. Plenty of sites in this category display review scores of uncertain origin. We would rather show you how to check a license than show you a number we made up.
